Applicants
must represent a registered Afghan women business
association. A business association is defined as an
organization that has paid membership, is governed by a
board of directors, whose mission and scope relate to
business, and that has all appropriate organizational
documents in place.
-
Not all
grant applications that are submitted will be funded.
This will be a competitive process by which proposals
will be judged on their merits. Each grant proposal will
be reviewed by a Grant Evaluation Committee comprised of
AWBF, CIPE and USAID officials as well as at least one
representative of the private sector. The committee will
make a recommendation for funding, but the CIPE
Executive Committee will make the final determination
for funding.
-
Applicants
must complete the CIPE Business Organization Information
Form and the Grant Application in their entirety and
provide all required attachments for review by the Grant
Evaluation Committee and CIPE officials.
-
Applicants
must agree to submit reports and financial statements on
a schedule determined by USAID and CIPE.
-
Applicants
whose proposals are selected for final consideration
must participate in an interview by the Grant Evaluation
Committee.
-
Applications
that are incomplete or not received by 5:00 p.m. on
February 22, 2007 will not be considered.
-
A letter of
support from either the President (Chief Volunteer) or
the Executive Director (Chief Paid Executive) of the
association must accompany each application.
-
Two hard
copies of the applications must be submitted. One should
be in English and the other in either Dari or Pashto.
One Dari/Pashto language and one English language copy
should be submitted electronically as well (either on
disk or by e-mail) To Mr. Riza Habib at rhabib@cipe.org
